The Iceman returns to Formula 1 with Lotus Renault GP. He will partner Romain Grosjean who is also making a Formula 1 comeback.
After months of speculation, Kimi Räikkönen makes his long awaited return to the F1 grid with Lotus Renault GP. The 2007 World Champion signed a 2-year contract with the Enstone outfit after an absence of two years from the sport, during which he partook in 2 full seasons in the World Rally Championship, and a NASCAR Truck Race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

2011 GP2 Champion Romain Grosjean also makes a Formula 1 comeback.

The self-styled Iceman's return comes amid months of speculation, with rumors previously linking him to the Grove-based AT&T Williams team. Kimi will be racing alongside the 2011 GP2 Champion Romain Grosjean, who similarly is making a Formula 1 comeback after racing the latter half of the 2009 Formula 1 season with Renault. Other drivers who were vying for a seat at the team are Russian driver Vitaly Petrov, who would have fulfilled his third and last year under his current contract with them, Robert Kubica, who had led the team during the 2010 Season, and Bruno Senna, nephew of the late Ayrton Senna.
